This did not cost very much, we did not have super high expectations, and end up giving this wine a decent score and review. By no means a stellar example of red wine. More an example of good grape growing and wine making. The color is deep purple. The nose is mineral and steel influenced blueberry and blackberry. The viscosity is surprisingly light for these two varietals, but I think that is a style thing more than being diluted. The black fruit profile is on the weak side, but still barely adequate. Not enough oak to mention. You know there is alcohol, but it is kind of under control. The acid is probably manipulated. Can't get excited, but also can't complain.
From 250ml bottle.Subtle liquorice and dark fruit aromas on the nose. Light to medium bodied, sweet dark fruit with prominent liquorice and hint of spices. Pretty smooth and supple, though it is slightly flabby and diluted. Fot the price it is decent stuff.
