this bottle was quite a bit more evolved than the recent one below with quite a bit of tertiary development and quite a bit of brett... very plush on the midpalate with just enough acidic and tannic grip keep it on its feet... balanced wine with good length, intensity, and very good complexity. ok on the finesse, nicely textured with good expression of place. i was surprised by how well this held up...

Still fairly young with mostly fresh primary red and black fruit with touches of anise, coffee and herbs. A little bit of secondary aromas of leather and tobacco are very faint. Good amount of tannic grip still, but this has good acid, medium-full body and a plush texture. Nicely balanced and enjoyable now, but will probably need about another 3-5 years to really sing. 90% Tempranillo, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Short of great now, I'd bet that this will be very nice as time goes by. Good dusty Spanish flavor, nice depth but a tart element holds it back. Very enjoyable. 91 points.
