  • At peak but still delicious !! I agree with my tasting note of one year ago !!
Perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle, easily removed. Dark ruby colored with little to no oxidation and medium clarity. Consumed over two days. Better the first day, lost a little on day two. McDougall Ranch vineyard sits at 935-1,030 feet 3.5 miles from the Pacific Ocean in the Sonoma Coast AVA. Rows are orientated from Magnetic North to South with a South to South West exposure with Pinot Noir Dijon clones 114 & 115. This was the last bottle of the vintage in my cellar. Just starting to wane, just barely past peak.

  • This wine is tasting pretty good right now !! Probably at its peak !!
The cork was nearly perfect after over a decade in the bottle. This is a balanced Pinot Noir that I consumed over two days. Deep ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of cranberry and rose hips, flavors of pomegranate, red raspberry, rhubarb, and marine soil with a pleasant medium finish. Popped and poured, this wine really benefited from gentle oxygen since it was much more soft and integrated on day two. This age worthy wine is a balanced and flavorful Pinot Noir that has more years of life left. A great fruit source from McDougall Ranch in the Sonoma Coast AVA and a great winemaking effort from Jason Drew. I still have one bottle of this vintage remaining; I may open it in the next few months or so to verify my rating.

  • Ripe fruit on the nose, ripe palate too, still with acidity.

  • Rather disappointing. Had a bitter streak that came through and marred the finish for me. This did improve over time though. Nose rather closed.

  • Excellent nose with a variety of elements emerging including spice and some floral notes enveloped in red and dark fruit aromas. Nice mouthfeel and good overall structure. Purple plum and cherry fruit with moderate finish.
