APPEARANCE 10/10 points. Color is yellow, with a hint of golden. Legs don't seem to form. Clear.
AROMA 18/20 points. Nice strength. Very nice aromas. Lightly tropical. I smell plenty of oak and vanilla. The pineapple and apple is faint.
FLAVOR 36/40 points. Much better taste than I expected. But due to its age, the balance is off. The fruit is mostly gone. It is very rich and mature tasting. The fruit is good; not too over-bearing. I get faint apricot and bananas sauteed in butter. Some caramel. End-palate, it is very oaky, creamy, and with notes of vanilla.
BODY AND FINISH 27/30 points. Medium-full bodied. Texture is smooth and creamy. Good finish. The oak and vanilla carry through the end.

From Internet Wine website: Toasted Head's 2008 Chardonnay's nose offers ripe pineapple and peach aromas with toasted graham cracker. The bright straw color prepares the palate for the rich tropical fruit and luscious stone fruit with a viscous mouth feel accented by toasted coconut, vanilla and butterscotch. The creamy finish lingers with hints of buttered toast and lemon zest. This wine will pair well with creamy Italian pasta dishes, roasted chicken or fish, and fresh summer corn.

Tastes like a toasted sheet of plywood. Also unbalanced. This is a wine that gives new world chardonnay a bad name!

Nicely under-oaked. Cali Chards are generally a style I don't like because of the wood, and this was well-restrained.
