Some light fruit, coconut & butterscotch notes. Interestingly, I drank two of these bottles recently, & one had a very spicy note from the “toasted head” barrel, while I could barely taste any toasted notes on the other. My drinking of this wine is long overdue. But despite it’s age, it was absolutely delicious at this price point.

"Bitter start to finish"? Oh come on now! If you like California style Chardonnays this is a pretty darned good one for the price. Think of it as "if you like Kendall-Jackson you'll love Toasted Head." Lots of malo-lactic, lots of oak, lots of alcohol (14%) -- the finest Lodi has to offer. Not perfectly to my taste, but my wife loves it.
