  • Light tawny red, the bouquet is heady and intense with strawberry, Bing cherry and red plum. Expressive and exuberant the wine draws you in.
The entry is subtly potent, succulent in texture and extremely attractive. There is a sparkling fresh acidity to give shape, and linearity to its line and poise - a ballerina. Elements of spice, dried cranberry and wild strawberry intertwine against crushed velvet tannins. Amazingly pure and fabulous gait the wine dazzles. Persistent farewell, complex, fabulous!

  • Frenchies at St. Gen (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Drank 1 glass over an hour. Didn't take many notes on this. I wrote down "wonky" and sour cherries.

  • A producer I occasionally grab two cuvees from their; Bourgogne and the Chambolle village. So it was fun to be introduced to this Vougeot parcel tonight. This drank very nicely with balance and a weightless palate. Tannins mostly in check. Earth, red fruit, spice and decent minerality. Hint of underbrush.

  • Light plum-red
Penetrating, heady aromas of red Bing cherry, peeled red plum, and strawberry followed by a savoury element and spicy twist.
The mid-palate is a treat with a succulent texture that melted Godiva chocolate sliding over the palate. Underneath, there is a subtle power and finesse. Drawing you in, there is a sensuality to the wine, a fine thread of acidity pushing the wine along and a frame of finely-knit tannins. The mid-palate presents floral tones (rose), cherry, red plum and some spicy oak. Light to medium-bodied this Pinot is crammed with fruit, has a significant concentration and finishes plush and luxuriantly long! There is an outstanding balance of threaded acid and its fine ballerina-pivoted frame. Drinking well right now this is good for a few more years. Certainly way better than I expected and possibly helped with ripeness by the warmer 2009 vintage.
