  • Dark, reddish violet in color with slight clearing the edges. Full, forward, & fragrant nose of ripe dark fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & currants with overtones of earthy/dusty & some floral notes of roses, forest floor, cocoa/coffee, leather, anise, minerals, tobacco, herbs & hints of cedar & balsamic notes. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced, smooth textured, complex, ripe dark fruit flavors of sour cherries, blueberries & currants with herbs, spices, mushrooms, cocoa & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing & at 17 years of age, it is close to its peak of development although it should hold here for several more years. Fill was in neck; cork was clean & intact.

  • Opened 2 hours in advance and, after several checks, decided to decant it right before consumption. Perfect cork.

Dense ruby red with just a hint of a bricked nail just to remind me of its age.

The nose starts on some foxy and funky notes, with under spirit red fruit, mainly sour and redcherries, and and underline of more balsamic and earthy notes.

Tannins well integrated, acidity present but allowing a velvet mouth.

More complex on the nose but in some way nicer and more drinkable in the mouth.
All in all a nice bottle but not overwhelming.

I still have two and won't wait too much before drinking them as I don0t think the evolution will bring anything more to the picture.

  • Nez typé sangiovese, bouche bien ample et ronde, fruitée. Finale qui se redresse encore avec des tanins fins et un brin de rusticité. Très bien+
