4th Saturday Group. Extremely disappointed with this wine. V8 and soy sauce was all that was left of this. Tasted better than it smelled, but that's not saying much. This was the 4th of 4 bottles purchased and was only a shell of a novel excellent wine. If this wasn't a cooked bottle, then I'd say these are dead. No score.

First of all, this is pretty good wine and, as can be seen from the divergent notes, is something that will appeal to about half the drinkers. Right now it is past its bestial stage and, for a big former bruiser of a shiraz, almost balanced. Now it's softer, relatively speaking, and might be good to have with chips and wings while watching a football game - not as a companion to dinner. As it loses it's fruit, I don't think that any underlying complexity is going to come out so it will be a fading one-trick pony. Like a former heavyweight champ who doesn't quite have it left in him but can still throw a lucky punch. Drink this one now while it's still got some fight left in it.

4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Rick's & Cris'): Opaque crimson color with notes of V8 juice, prunes and ripe fruit. Acidic; dark fruit flavors- has an Amarone-like quality to it.

The fruit is fading. Topper's notes describe this well.

Some cork seepage, but doesn't seem to have affected the wine. Dark and opaque, blackberries on the nose, dense, chewy - still a bruiser of a wine.
