Took it to Laurelhurst Market, figured it would stand up to the rib eye and it did so nicely. Quick decant and 20 minutes later it was drinking really well. We didn't get much heat despite the 15+% and everything seemed well integrated. Heavy red fruits, lots of oak, bit of coffee and some menthol through the finish.

Didn't take great notes during the drinking of it. Was a bit heavier than I expected for a Sangiovese, fruits were on the darker side (black cherry), still relatively tannic, a bit of bark. Good, but not great wine.

Still needs a little time in bottle, sangiovese flavor and acid was there, but this is a monster with a lot of oak as well. It wouldn't be del dotto without it, but will need big flavored food to accompany.

Quite nice, but different than your typical Italian Sangiovese based wines. Over 15% alcohol, but it blows off rather quickly and you are left with a chocolate covered cherry fest with a good amount of oak, but not too much. This wine has a very earthy nose. All in all, quite nice. Am going to give the other bottles in my cellar more time before popping.
