  • Dark red, nearly opaque at its core. On the nose blackberry jelly, amarena cherries, herbs and floral aromas as well as hints of anis and other spices. As typical for Ripasso the attack is rather sweet but is soon opening up with mild acidity and tart cherry aromas as well as some spice. The oak is very well integrated by now and leaves us with silky smooth tannins and a very pleasant, velvety mouthfeel. A very good example of the Ripasso-style which could just have used a bit more acidity to contrast the sweet attack to make it more balanced.
