  Superb bottle. Have gone through almost a dozen 80s and 90s Pesqueras without a wow moment but then this bottle of the 86 Cosecha Especial is superb. A transparent garnet would th a thin bricking rim in the glass. Beautiful whole cluster nose with some earthy notes, fully resolved tannins, fresh and smooth palate. Medium (-) finish. Beautiful wine

  Have been trying a lot 80s and 90s Crianzas and Reservas from Pesquera after having had some superb bottles of their hard to find top wine Janus from the 80s.
  My general comment is that Pesquera produces a very solid and consistent wine, whether Crianza or Reserva there is not much of a difference in my eyes, however none of the wines came even close to the quality of the Janus I have had.
  This 86 Crianza Cosecha Especial is still showing a fairly dark garnet with almost no browning in the glass. Very nice balance, still with fruit and not all tertiary, fine to medium tannins. On the other hand, and just like the other 80s and 90s Crianzas and Reservas this is aromatically fairly muted with a short finish only. Good but not great

  Dark fruit, gooseberries, cassis tones, still fairly good body but a tad one dimensional, drinkable but fruit is gradually fading (top shoulder fill).

  Wonderful nose, tobacco, earth, truffles, leather, dried fruit. Powerful but balanced, very smooth tannins. Medium length.
