Can a matter of months make this much difference? For this wine, apparently so! Not nearly as notable as it can be in a solid vintage, this bottle was a huge improvement over the last two opened. Although the fruit was relatively muted and the acidity a tad quirky, it was not bitter/tart or overtly offensive, as previously experienced. Perhaps most surprising is that it was left out in the decanter overnight, yet remains abundantly drinkable. Therefore, earning itself several more points.

Readying to place my order for the '09, I was compelled to open another of these. Unfortunately, a similar impression to the last bottle - markedly disjointed with tart...nearly sour acidity, which all but obliterated the chunky fruit, and was so predominant through the finish that it left me with, quite literally, a 'bitter taste in my mouth.'

Eh! Definitely not their best offering. Typically closed-down at first, I vinturied and left decanted for nearly an hour and it started showing varietally-typical, in the nose and mouth. However, nearly 2 1/2 hrs in, it's gone slightly out of balance with decent aromatics that are masked by the simple mid-palate; with a tart acidity and a hot-ish finish. Will be interesting to see if time in the bottle benefits this at all. I'm guessing against it, quite frankly.

Really nice right now, although another year or two would be great in my opinion.
