  • Dark purple color with no browning at the edges. With a swirl, aromas of Provençal herbs, leather, gravel earth, and dried flowers are delicate, yet memorable.

Very direct up front, with macerated black cherry and black raspberry quickly gaining in intensity mid-palate with licorice/fennel, black olive, and herb flavors blending into the medium long finish. After about 10-15 seconds into the finish, slightly astringent tannins emerge that detracts from the overall experience.

Seems to be entering peak window. Should hold for at least another 5 years. Hopefully those tannins will continue to integrate. Drink now - 2025.

  • Dark, black fruit and spice and alcohol. Strong, dark, deep, fruit driven, black pepper and heat from the ethanol. Good, in a Rhone way. Early in its life.

  • Nose is leather, earth, blueberry, dark cherry, and hints of violets and wet stone. On the palate are leather, tobacco, earth, stone, chalk, and very reserved flavors of dark cherry and red berries. This is a highly tannic wine, with a very lengthy finish. Ultimately, the tannin is just too prevalent for true enjoyment in our opinion.

  • Wonderful perfume on the nose, rich and floral with red berry, lavender, violet, currant, rose petal, red berry and cherry. Some stone aromas. Sexy and feminine on the palate with delicate fruit flavors. Red berry. Luscious currant and red berry over white pepper. Light spice. Zesty and pretty with good acid.

  • Decanted. Nose has lots of dark notes: leather, tobacco, black fruits. Deep colour, but start showing hints of ruby red. The tannins are very present in the taste, especially towards the finish. But still, it has a lot to offer, dark concentrated fruits, leather, cocoa. Good length and finale. Right now, a great wine to drink with stews and red meat. May get easier in a year or 3, but not quite sure if that is a good thing. To me, the intensity makes this wine really nice.
