The first thing that hit you is the leathery and herbaceous nose with red plums in the undertones. The same aromatic traits flowed to the palate. Good density, just a touch of barnyard and red fruit in the medium-bodied palate. May not be a popular choice for many but the unique character is a welcomed diversity to the wine community.

Dark red brick. Soft merlot fruit nose. Ripe plums, licorice, stewed red fruit, toast, cedar, cigar box, soft spice. Tight tannins at the start, softens down in 30min, rounded palate, firm acidity. Pleasant and easy wine.

Even better than the last one, so I raised the score by a point. A bit light, but otherwise lovely. Nice and smooth, some very nice tobacco, dark fruit.

I had it end of 2017 and rated it 89 back then and had it several times since. It was good at that time and I did not know if it would improve or not. I think it did. It became a standard over the years in my cellar and I have 16 left and I am positive that the last bottle will be emptied still at it's top.

Good, but did not wow as much as last time (possibly from short decant). In our run of "inexpensive Bordeaux" this week, Evi ranked it as #2.
Decanted 45 minutes.
