  • A solid wine, not super sweet, and the tart acidity further keeps the sugar in check, it starts a little disjointed but knits together with air. Holding up nicely after 20 years.

  • 1996 Château du Hureau Coteaux de Saumur Blanc (Frankrijk, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur) Kleur: Goudgeel richting oranje. Aroma / bouquet: Zoet, caramel, honing, rokerig, kruidig, whiskey-achtig gerookt. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Smaak / Afdronk: 17 + Algemeen / potentieel: 7 = 90/100

  • Interesting wine. Rich gold colour. Nose with typical chenin blanc notes. Fairly fresh taste (apricot) with acidity to match the sugar. Clean aftertaste. Nice semi-sweet wine. At peak now, will probably last for many years to come.
