Nose of dry branches and black fruit. On the palate, the wine has a rich, full-bodied texture, but doesn't have the flavour to match. There are hints of black cherry and liquorice root, but no more than a hint. The finish is dry and slightly astringent.

clean, fruity, not much backbone, bit hot (14% alcohol and it shows). The alcohol and the ripeness make this a bit cloying and tough to drink after a glass or so. Pleasant enough drunk with a pub lunch. **

Good – clear mid garnet appearance; black and red fruits on nose; off-dry; mid acidity; mid tannins; medium body; mid length finish. Red and Dark fruits – sour cherries; bit one dimensional; pleasant but needs more time to develop or longer decant – popped and poured. Had with GLAZED DUCK BREAST, mulled wine infused red cabbage, dauhpinnoise potatoes & grand marnier jus

Friends of Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra Wine Tasting (Philadelphia, PA): Good representation of the variety. Nice garnet color and typical funky nose with a bit of the ocean in back. Medium-bodied and full-flavored with cherry, earth, some leather. Very good QPR at the $15 price point. Would love to taste after 5 years or so.

An old friend. Very easy drinking but a steel of real quality here. Classic Pinot Noir.
