Color: Ruby with a rose colored meniscus Smell: Oil-cured black olives, mulch, blueberries, pencil shavings, and white pepper Taste: blackberry, pepper, blueberry, beef jerky, and mushroom. Overall: Excellent - Outstanding in quality...certainly a steal at the $16 price tag I paid. Med+ body, high acidity, med+ fruit, and med+ tannin. Good now but this will likely be better in 2-4 years. With good storage drink now-2023.

WSET III, part 1; 10/15/2011-10/16/2011 (Portland, ME): Clean, medium-plus (deep) ruby color. Developing, medium-plus intensity nose of black and dried fruit; meaty; smoke and cedar. Dry. Medium-plus body with medium-plus acidity, medium tannin and alcohol. Black pepper, cedar, smoke, and meat on the palate. Medium length. Good. Typical, in a modern style.

Beautiful and intense bouquet with good cherries and licorice. Same on the palate. Good concentration. Beautiful already, and will continue to be for the next 5+ years.

Something was very wrong, this seemed like a pretty good Cote du Rhone, but there was nothing to indicate Cornas.
