A whiff of cork note on the nose... otherwise an amazingly fresh and balanced round mineral and long palate with brimming fruit, not a sign of pox. The taint on the nose did seem to whiff off with air, shame we didn't decant it could have been an outstanding experience. As it was ~93 but with a clean nose this would have pushed higher to mid 90s easy.

La Paulee Gala (San Francisco CA): Powerful and lush aromas of candied apple, peach and mint with charming floral support. Big and powerful on palate with fresh fruit, but well supported by lots of acids and minerality that help provide length and elegant textures into long finish. Such a shame the Sauzet 1996 Montrachet I brought to follow this wine was horribly oxidized.

Complex and youthful on the nose, balanced and intense in the mouth. Not fat at all, acidity in check but pretty evident, elegant more than powerful. Youthful, everyone at the table guessed it as a top Burgundy but all guessed it as a much younger wine. Bright. For sure no prem-ox. A little Chablis-like. No hurry to drink, not yet at its peak.

Beautiful rich fruits mixed with mineral aromas. Very complex and yet balanced flavours of white flowers and wet rocks. Acidity and fruit balance just right. Graceful long finish. Top effort.
