Win some lose some ? Win. After about 2 hours of air, this malbec shined. Unlike southern hemisphere malbecs, but more like a very well made WA Syrah, with malbec tones. This is a good wine, period. I wish I had bought more than one.

Nice and fruity, solid wine with some chewy tannins at first, which relaxed with air. Nothing like the Argentinian Malbecs I've had, this definitely has a Washington peppery note. Tasty!

Make no mistake, this is a BIG wine. Lots of oak, requiring several more years of bottle age, OR at least 2-3 hours of decanting prior to consumption. I tasted this wine at Storyteller Wine Co. in Portland, after 2-2 1/2 hours decant. You can definitely still identify the oak, but MUCH more integrated than I think this would have been on a 'pop and pour'. Tasty juice, but still young at 6 years. Drink 2012+.

Oak dominates with sweet nose. Occasionally voilets and lavender sneak through on the nose. Palate is smooth with vague blueberry and MORE OAK. Finish is rather flat and splintery. Very disappointed after trying the Modern Wine Project Cab. Win some, lose some.
