Medium red color. Aromas of ripe red fruits, underbrush, minerals and spices. Very sauve and beautifully structured fruit in the mouth with great depth and length and well-integrated tannins. This wine is just now reaching its peak drinking period and exhibits the depth, complexity and power of a true Grand Cru Burgundy. A great effort for the vintage.

Bertagna did really well in 2000, and their wines drink remarkably well now.The wine shows very little age, and the color is towards the black spectrum. The nose is very open and hints at quality Burgundy with dominant notes of black cherry liquor (kirsch), some animal scents and a mineral (in the sense of salty) spine. Extremely classy and complex. The tannins are velvetty and perfectly combined in the structure to deliver an extremely pleasurable mouth, although it could be found lacking in sheer intensity. The finish is very long and distinguished, noble yet evanescent scents of old rose linger about in the room to imprint in your mind what good Burgundy is capable of.

The first 45 minutes similar to the 11/25/11 bottle but the fruit slightly faded after that.

Similar to the 11/25/11 bottle except a touch less complex.
