Another bottle in really good shape - drank great from the pop 'n pour. Not a lot of complexity here, but the texture, mouthfeel, depth, and purity of fruit are so engaging. Shared this blind with a small group and everyone loved it, though nobody picked this as Pinot (there was a Bordeaux blend and Syrah guessed).

13% abv. 592 cases. Recent auction purchase (HerbFarm collection via Spectrum Wine Auctions). This showed great immediately from the pop 'n pour and over the course of several hours until it was gone. Everything was in harmony with this; soaring aromatics, balance, depth, succulent mouthfeel, lovely flavor profile - all in a great place right now. Went so well with leftover ribeye roast, potatos, and green beans. Everything was in such a great place that I really concentrated on the mid-palate flavor - not terribly complex, some rhubarb, ripe peach, not really any earthy notes (unfortunately, as I really enjoy a Burgs that have this). Still a really nice drink and am glad to have another bottle.

Saw this on a restaurant wine list (Troquet on South in Boston) and had to order it in honor of Patricia's recent passing. Never had a 17 year old OR Pinot but here goes! Nose had a little Pinot funk but with red fruits and lots of tertiary notes of herbs, mushrooms and forest floor. Palate still had a ton of fruit left. Maybe a warm vintage? Pure red cherry, minty herbal notes with similar tertiary characteristics as the nose. Not the most complex PN but pretty full bodied, complete across the mid palate and overall pretty solid. RIP Patricia!

Tarry fruit aromas, and still that sweet sweet Dundee fruit. I'd say it's pretty much time to move on this wine, and I've held on to Patty's wines in excess of 15 years plenty of times...
