  • Another good honest, great for the nice offering from Patty Green. Lots of dark fruit underlie a beautifully flavored wine.

  • Split decision in the house. The Mrs. thought it was far too sweet - and simply didn't have the character she liked in an Oregon Pinot. I liked - especially the soft tannins mixed with a strong blueberry burst of dark fruit flavor.

  • Decanted for about 1 hour/ served at just a bit over cellar temp. Deep opaque crimson, but not inky. On the nose, plumb, blackberry, with the pinot funk. Similar notes repeating on the palate with an addition sour cherry on the finish. Moderate tannins. This wine, in my opinion is starting to show its true self. While likely not peaking, it is time to consider drinking the rest of this. There is a hint of this on the nose and more firm on the finish: a kind of overripe apple-- like the ones that you smell when its been rotting on the ground.

Not trying to be too zany here, but when I was a kid and I was too lazy to pick up the apples before mowing the lawn and I would just mow the damn things over. The next time I'd mow they would get this sweet, but nasty funk. Smells just like this note. Almost pleasant on the intial smell and present thought the midpalate, but uncomfortably so on the finish. I detected a lot of this at the last barrel tasting of the 07s on Memorial Day at the winery, and didn't notice this much at all during the tastings of the 06 last thanksgiving. I still like the wine, but the finish pull down the rest. 88

  • Pours dark, with kiwi, blackberry and goes down tasting dark and rich. Blueberry here is more forward and less loamy in quality than the other Oregon blue flavors I was tasting in the other bottles. Also som balckberry, seeming more new world in stature and lacking that loamy quality.

  • Decanted first hour -- dense black cherries and blackberries with touch of barnyard and pepper. Midpalate of black fruit spice/pepper with strong tannin. Second hour -- mellowed quite out quite a bit to really add to its complexity. I think this wine will improve considerably over the next 6mo to a year. Looking forward to that.
