Best of Austria and some other supplements (@home): Glas: Zalto Universal I served this blind as an Aperitif. People were impressed about the quality. Saar Riesling is always a stunner and with 8 years of age at its peak but has at least 5+ years ahead. 87-88. Great PQR

Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah Bottle drunk over 3 days. The Saar Riesling is always a safe and solid bet. One of the best and most reliable estate Riesling I know. Beautiful nose with aromas of ripe yellow fruit, honey, slate, orange zests, petrol, some spices and some fine herbs. Dryish, I guess not legally dry, somewhere around 8-12gr of residual sugar. But it suits this wine. Acidity is well integrated and not green or sharp like many other Rieslings of this vintage. Thankfully quite low alcohol (11,5%abv). Very nice flavors, driven by some citrus fruit bitterness: Tangerine, grapefruit, herbs, slate. Good phenolic structure. Combined with the acidity it gives this wine a solid foundation and good tension. Drinks perfectly now, but will continue to evolve for a few years more, so no hurry. 88-90. Excellent PQR!

Not as rich as the 2007, but holding lots of promise. Looking at where the 2007s are now, I would expect this to evolve nicely for at least 5 years and keep for another five. good acidity.

Dośc mocna, jak do jedzenia, słodycz i cytrynową kwasową końcówką. Troche Gewurstraminera mi przypominał.

Distinctly crisp and mineral, especially on the finish. Opened up, and sweetened slightly, after an hour or two.
