Bright, lime and pine, very cool, with bright, lip-smacking acidity, some minerality but not out there, a deep wine, Theise is right about the retro-nasal plume effect-love it.

Popped and poured. Color pale straw. Nose showing bright minerality with peaches apples and candied citrus rind. On palate this has great depth of cheek coating flavor propelled by the prominent acid backbone. Very nice. Agree that this should be around for many years to come and should be really great, but this is also delicious now.
Third night (kept in fridge) revisited. Nose tonight much fruitier as is palate. Then I realized that this was the cooler temperature, because as it warmed it showed more minerality on both nose and palate. I realized that the other night it was warmer too. Really drinking more like an auslese and remain convinced that this will hang for a long time.

(Meulenhof Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese) Very light green-tinged yellow color; tart green apple nose; tasty, poised, tart green apple, mineral palate; medium-plus finish 91+ points
(Meulenhof Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese) ($27.00) ...and like the Kabinett, an early-bottled version is shipping now (#5); the cask sample seemed a little drier and even slatier, though both were super-streamlined and entirely clean and site-classical. This is actually a very fine wine! There’s an evanescently vaporous finish that’s pure Sonnenuhr, blowing a plume of lime and balsam all through your senses. In other words, “The retro-nasal is like, really out there.”

Bright peach and citrus with crazy mineral acidity. Awesome wine. Great mouthfeel. Will cellar for quite a few years assuming the screwcap holds up

Tight nose. Very bright in character with very tart acids. Sweet but not in a sugary way. Very nice.
