Langton's Cellar Club Tasting 3 March 2012 - Coates Wines, Pierro, Wines of Spain (Roof Terrace Australian Museum): Purple with rim fade, deep, clear Blackcurrant and lots’ of it. Sweet spice, oak, herbs (mint and a touch of eucalyptus), medium intensity, clean, developing, vanilla spice, pencil shavings and something floral on top Medium plus acid, medium tannin, medium plus body, medium flavour intensity, medium plus alcohol, warming on the finish. Alcohol is slightly out of balance and dominates the very nice black currant fruit which is underpinned by pepper and sweet spice. Fruity rather than savoury. Good but the alcohol is slightly too high at this juncture.
