4th Saturday group "uptown" tasting (Sue's): This opened with a note of mint, followed by black fruit, eucalyptus and plum. A few in the group detected TCA from the start, but I wasn't sure. A few minutes later, yes, there was a definite streak of TCA. A few minutes later and the TCA was gone again and the wine seemed fine again. Definitely flawed, but drinkable depending upon one's sensitivity to TCA.

Decanted about 2 hours. Big nose and dark, heavy ruby color. Initial taste and the wild cherries jumped off the tree! Holy Cow. The spice and smoke were muted making this an extremely good drinking Cab. From other notes, I was expecting much but this wine really surprised me and paired great with roasted corn on the cob and a couple of big T-bones. Wish I had more, this is a nice Cab at the price point.

Drank with a 2001 Preston. Great contrast and makes one appreciate a young (er) Preston while enjoying a mature one. Great evolution
