  • Very ripe fruit but not completely overripe. Starting to show a touch of secondary flavors. A touch high in alcohol. Leather. Ok.

  • Smells like plum and sesame seeds. Tastes like tart plum, leather, salt water, dirt, and tree bark. A lot of tannin. Will age even longer and would be very beautiful. Would pair well with a lamb shank. 85 now, but will be 95+ with age

  • My second time tasting 2010 Chateau Bellegrave. My notes are the same as the first. Thirty minutes in the decanter and then into a Burgundy glass. The bottle contained a bit of sediment, but no big deal. The aroma was subtle, but nice. Hints of Cassis, Tobacco and Cherry. The wine is fairly polished and tannin is not a factor. It drinks well now, but has another ten years left.

  • A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc.
A classic, spot-on expression of Pomerol.
On the nose notes of black tea, cassis, dark cherry, plum, turned earth, cocoa, vanilla, floral pastilles and hints of pepper, herbs and cigar box.
The palate is generous offering suave and velvety textures, polished moderate-plus tannins and balanced acids. Mouth filling and smooth through the finish. Flavors of plum, cassis and dark cherry come with notes of earth and graphite, black tea, pepper, tobacco, herbs, cocoa and touches of floral pastilles and vanilla.

    Overall classic, polished and elegant.
