  Still great, and no sign at all of the age, it's need a decant 2-3 hours at least, quite backward and have more power than Valbuena 2004 but less elegance, it's truely great - need a big glass to show it's potencial.

  Complex - notes of tobacco, leather, dark fruit, vanilla, spices. Very balanced on the palate with good concentration of fruit, acidity, soft tannins. Delicious now with medium complexity and length. Drink up. 90-92

  Took awhile to open but after closing it with a vacu-vin it was even better the 2nd night. Really a delicious wine.

  A very underrated wine, all vintages of Mauro are lovely, it's not an easy trip to drink the Mauro VS 04, as it's need a lot a attention, (the 2001 is more polished) and need to be decanted 12-24 hours before serving. Valbuena level for sure but with more raw power ! despite the high alkohol it gives you pleasure and in my opinion need to be backed up some good food, not a Champions league bottle .. . but more a Rugby kind of wine.

  This one reminds quite a lot of the 1998, like most great wines it need to be decanted at least 2-3 hours before. Deep deep colour, inky, just starts to open up, indian spices, olives, with a twist of old old modena vinegar, it did work out great with pork cheeks and really needed the food !! brillant wine, I love it ... Drink 2020-2034
