Blood orange, cranberry, notes of gravel and forest floor; relatively fruitful still, lithe, not powerful, fairly long finish, not very dynamic but still enjoyable though quite faded

Appearance: medium garnet. Nose: medium plus intensity; aromas of chicken stock, farmyard, red plum, ripe strawberry, smoke meat, toast, dried red roses. It’s fully developed. Palate: dry, high acidity, high tannins, medium plus alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus flavour intensity. Flavours align with nose, a lot of tertiary notes and black tea comes through. The finish is medium plus. Overall, it’s a very good wine. Drink now, not suitable for further ageing. The bottle is a little tired now with the fruits barely holding, which make the alcohol stand out a little. The wine is still balanced though. A lot of meaty characters present in this wine lingering through the finish. The last bottle of the three.

Appearance: Med Garnet Nose: Med+ Intensity, farm yard, mushroom, rotten rose, cherry ripe, plum, prune, ceder, leafy, black tea. Fully developed. Palate: Dry, Med + Intensity, med+ acidity, Med+ tannins, Med alcohol, Med+ body, Med flavour intensity, med+ finish. Chocolate. Overall, very good wine. It would be better if drink a few years earlier. This bottle seems to be further developed vs the last one (not as good). More earthy notes, a little bretty but still balanced.

Appearance: medium garnet Nose: pronounced intensity; aromas of wet leaves, toast, farmyard, red currant, red cherry, licorice, cedar, earthiness, smoke, rosemary, chocolate, violet. It's developing. Palate: dry, high acidity, medium tannins (smooth), medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus flavour intensity, medium plus finish. Overall, it's a very good wine. Can drink now, has potential for further ageing. This wine is quite elegant with great complexity and flavours. The acidity guaranteed the ageing potential whilst the tannins are smooth and well integrated. After 1 hr decanting, perfumed floral notes of dried rose pedal (Cab Franc?), also sweet tobacco and meaty/savoury stand out a lot more. The evolvement on the nose is very attractive and definitely the highlight of this wine.

Fully mature, the wine had retained its soft, round, plush character, while adding truffle, flowers, tobacco, earth and leafy notes to the juicy red fruits and licorice. There is no reason to age this any longer. If you have a bottle, check it out, before it fades away.
