My fault for decanting too late and too cold. Last bottle should be opened two hours to warm up. A bit tart fruit this bottle which is unusual. Besides being to cold and tart it scored lower. My fault. For the $45 I paid still great QPR. Classic StE profile.

I should have read my last review. I thought an hour decant would be enough. It wasn’t. The wine still needs an hour and a half or two hour decant. You would think I know this.
Initially Wine tasted young an tart after an hour decant. WTH? My bad not enough air. At 90 minutes plus the wine became normal, chocolate emerging & Cab Franc coming to the forefront. Delicious now. So even mature StE need a two hour decant.

Decanted 75 minutes and drank over the next hour. Dark black color with minimal sediment. Tannins are calming down and the wine is smooth and harmonious. That Merlot & Cab Franc blend is so yummy. Chocolate, tobacco, coffee & forest floor typical of StE. Amazing QPR at $45. Year in and year out this is a wine StE lovers need to buy. It’s always excellent for the value. Reminds me I need to buy some 2018.

Decanted 90 minutes. Full mouthfeel and extraction. Blows away the 15 Beausejour Becot we had last night. Excellent extraction. Tobacco, leather & chocolate dominate. So great. Lesser is sometimes more. I feel the big expensive St Emilion Chateau are not worth the extra money anymore. Some great Chateau at lower prices making wines just as good. IMO

Vinet i en underbar fas. Bra struktur med strävhet och syra, frukten övergår alltmer i tertiära aromer. Tobak och kakao bl a. Utmärkt.
