  • Closed at first but opens up after about two hours. Tart blackcurrant, blueberry and raspberry jam, nail polish, rusty metals and some undergrowth. After a few hours a pretty great nose. A firm mouthfeel with energetic acidity and soft, mature tannins. Short aftertaste. Not as good after a night in the fridge, lost the fruit and too much metal. High quality Dolcetto, qpr through the roof.

  • Starts of somewhat dirty, but shakes it off after an hour. Nice fruit and good concentration.

  • Aromatic - cool berries and cherries, black pepper, raw meat, tar, dried flowers. A bit austere on the palate, with firm tannins dominating the fruit, and a good amount of acidity too. But the fruit makes it to the finish, where it lingers along with dried flowers and a good dose of minerality, more than a touch bitter.

After a few hours, the fruit is more open and prominent and quite tasty, but the tannins are still raging and the minerality has become even more serious with almost tongue-numbing iron. At its best with food, but this is quite enjoyable even on its own - if you don't mind the tannins and bitter iron finish - with delicious fruit, good acidity, and real meaty-tarry-floral-mineral depth.
