What a pleasant surprise! The last time I tasted this wine several (6-7?) years ago, I remember it being was dominated by grapey fruit - not unpleasant, but a bit unusual. I'm glad I waited. It has matured into something really interesting. There is even a hint of earth and smoke that reminds me of the northern Rhone, which is high praise for Washington Syrah (though that earthy quality seemed to blow off after about an hour). Given the way it changed over the evening, I'd say it's time to drink up in the next year or two. I feel lucky to have a couple more bottles!

Nose is full of smoke. Taste is realliy tart berries with smoke as finish. Brilliant wine.
