No decant needed. Thought this was an outstanding bottle. A rather brooding nose of dark fruit and various herbal aromas. Inky, savory, and fairly dense on the palate, but not at all heavy or ponderous. Even the (mild) funk notes have a sort of elegance. Open and resolved but nothing tertiary showing, so fine to drink or hold. It’s too bad this is so hard to find in the US; I’d love to have more. Would be curious to know a bit about the site, as well.

Pretty good with lots of dried herbs and light acidic dark fruit. Ready to drink now and over the next 5-10 years. Lacks a little heft and body. Good black tar finish.

Very good. Some less than perfectly clean flavors in a good way. Complex with some barnyard etc. Really good, drinking well now and for a while to come.

Meaty cassis nose with bellpepper, tea and buttery roundness. Quite fullbodied and dry on the balanced palate of ripe dark fruit. Herbs, tea and leather. Good length. Nice riper Chinon.
