  • Mixed, sweet red and dark fruit (mostly red), intense but pleasant herbal notes, spices, liquorice and mineral notes as well as a hint of chocolate and a balsamic component, with medium-level acidity and very good length. The tannin was still present, but fine and well-behaved. A well-structured, medium-bodied, smooth and very balanced wine. Lovely stuff! In a great place. Beats many wines three times the price. Amazing value. A coup de cœur!

  • Well balanced, drinking well right now. Agree with earlier note that not too heavy, went well with lamb.

  • Very light on its feet, despite a 15% alcohol level. Black fruits on the nose, strong rhone minerality, deft acidity and a clean, crisp finish. Enough tannins to last 2 to 5 more years, but not at all over the top. Definitely would recommend this wine, if you're looking for something to accompany duck or pork, not heavy enough for red meats.

  • Wow, I messed up again. For some reason this was on a clearance shelf for less than $13.50. I bought one to try without looking it up, but by the time I realized what I had the rest were gone. This was a huge wine that was still in need of a couple more years in the cellar, and it was an absolute steal at the price I paid. While everyone is paying top dollar for CdP, bargains from the other AOCs in Southern Rhône are are waiting to be discovered at very affordable prices. I can still get this locally for $20.

  • Lively deep purple in the glass. Quite assertive and very attractive nose of dark, smokey berries. Immediately enjoyable flavours and some fairly grippy tannins - but fine grained. Good acidity: it's juicy! Very long. This probably won't be at its peak for a year or two, but is so enjoyable now it's hard to resist. 14.5%.
