Mid red. Plum, spice. Clearly cooler climate. A bit closed at first but not too much more emerges with air. Nice easy drinking red, no rush with the screw cap but I would look to drink sooner than later.

I have had this wine several times before and really liked its peppery, cool climate statement of Australian Shiraz. Definitely tending to the Syrah side of the spectrum. Today it took a while to show its wares but that may have well been because I was out to lunch with with my extended family and it didn't get the decant it would normally have. Initially it seemed to be lacking just a touch of ripeness but it settled down nicely after a glass or two to the wine I remembered and liked. Pepper and spice to the fore with some age related complexity, it probably still has a few years in it but I can't really see it getting much better. Good wine without being great.

deep crimson colour. aroma of earth and damp leaves. without aeration it has a light almost watery flavour. After aeration it develops a medium body with blackberry, chocolate and olive. the tannin is clearly evident but not overpowering. it is let down by a bitter aftertaste.

Drank this next to a bottle of two hands so it really couldn't stand up to that. For the money though, a very solid wine.
