Dark fruits, cedar, cigar box, roast beef. Superb balance and ample length. Years ahead of it. Brief note could be abbreviated even further: quality cab. Probably the best bottle of Vasse cab I’ve tried, do I give credit to the vintage or slightly more advanced age?

Under screwcap. Cool, cool stuff, a real cab showing the place perfectly. Still primary, it's a vertical wine, well balanced with clean cut fruit, that delivers. Will hold for years. AD loved it. #RibeyeMonday

Impenetrable blackish purple red in color with a clear watery edge. A profoundly deep and aromatic nose of ripe blue with lots of cedar, tobacco, earthy, meaty overtones. The palate of this 12 year old Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon is medium full-bodied, medium-intensity, fairly well-structured, with quite a bit of residual tannins and refreshing acidity that accompanies the punchy fruit. The flavor profile includes, savory fruits such as dark cherries, black currants, and blackberries with a secondary layer of gamey meat, herbs, cedar, tobacco, light but notable vanilla cream, earthy element, all complexly ends with a slightly savory and protracted finish. As good as it is now, this wine is still in its infancy. I would reckon that this wine would continue to develop and improve with at least another 6 - 8 years or perhaps longer in the right conditions in cellar. A truly beautiful and very well made wine. Will revisit tomorrow, I suspect that this will be better. Day 3 Update: Sure enough, it's drinking even better tonight after 72 hours in the ref since initial opening or "the twisting the screw cap" closure of this bottle.

Medium ruby, beautiful nose of cigar box and cassis - juicy, bright, concentrated, delish, needs a decant - bright acidity keeps it all nicely centered, this is delicious. Good for another 3-5 years minimum.

I rarely drink new world but this was quite good. Like a very clean, ripe Bordeaux. Still youthful but ready to drink.
