  • Opened and let it sit for an hour before decanting. Probably still need another hour or so in the decanter as the wine smoothed out. This wine is rich and full bodied with lots of deep berries in the flavor. Theres still a bit of alcohol on the nose and flavor. Still a real solid cab.

  • Phenomenal. Very (VERY) big wine - fruit is in your face and oh so powerful. Huge. Fireworks! Incredibly complex profile: Blackberry, earth, black pepper, chocolate, blueberry, tobacco, currant, leather….so very different from another Cabernet we drank over that weekend that was meek and disappointing. Venge reminded me of a syrah, especially a mollydooker carnival of love with its fruit intensity. One of the the best and most interesting wines I’ve ever had. Ready now - perhaps at an ideal place. I think it can age for 5 more years - but wow it’s so so so so good NOW! Side note: If you like a restrained French Bordeaux, you won’t like this.

  • Still going strong. Did decant as there were a few dregs. Full bodied with great finish /tannins. Peppery with some tobacco flavors. Still in ifs prime. 2009 vintage

  • Should have decanted but it was an emergency wine at the end of the evening. Full of pepper and heat, thick body. Vacuumed and refrigerated. Three days later, much more accessible, thick and silky on the palate, a little gingerbread or fruitcake. This may need substantially more cellar time.

  • Impressive wine. Powerful. Not over extracted or over oaked. You get the feeling that this is a "man among boys" kind of wine. This is all about the fruit and not about engineering. This will age well in my opinion.
