This has evolved quite a bit since the last time I tried it. Rose petals and strawberry fields with a touch of funk.
I don't drink much De Ponte Cellars these days but every time I revisit their bottlings, I'm reminded why they're one of my favorite producers in the Willamette Valley.

I am starting to see a lot of bottle variation between these 375s. Despite cellaring in perfect, controlled conditions, there's a lot of quality differences between bottles. Fortunately, this one was stellar. Lovely aromas of cedar and spice on the nose. Lots of acidity, fresh fruit, and depth to the wine. I hope my full 750's show more like this instance once we start to get into them...

This bottle was stored under ideal cellar conditions since purchase. Despite the previous bottle showing a fair amount of oxidation, this one was more fresh, with lovely aromas on the nose and bright acidity on the palate. Nevertheless, the fruit is starting to fade. It's a great wine to pair with food, but lacks the special character I come to expect from De Ponte wines when they are drinking well. I'm in no rush to drink my 750ml bottles, but these splits will likely need to be consumed sooner rather than later.

This bottle was stored under ideal cellar conditions since purchase. While my previous bottle was perfect and fresh, this one showed more oxidation than I expected to see. Nevertheless, for those who like a little age and oxidation on your Pinot, this is drinking very nicely. Less fruit, more spice. A lovely accompaniment to food.

Lovely way to wrap up the decade. Might be my favorite vintage from DePonte.
