I love drinking 10 year old wine. Nice combo of still-present classic cab fruit with just enough oak and silky smooth tannins. Once again, this is why I like having a cellar - even if it's not a large or stocked with as expensive wines as some others I know. The simple pleasure of enjoying a $29 bottle of wine. :-)

Decanted 1 hour, served after 2. Dark fruits, anise and dried herbs on the nose. Dark fruit, cedar, earth and dried herbs in a medium bodied profile. Still some drying tannins on the finish. Profile leaner and more herbal than Napa. 91 points

You know a wine is going to be good as soon as you pour it. This was one of those wines. The scent of black fruit, cassis, fancy oak, and walnut shell coming out of the glass was alluring, sensual, and inviting, yet it held back with elegant restraint. Juicy and tensile, long and broad, sumptuous yet lissome, and driven by impeccable structure, complexity, and purity. Tasty, blackberry fruit flavors and a piquant finish that lingers. Seductive, classy, and in perfect balance. A complete wine. 93++

Less stimulating and appealing than other bottles. Nose of earth, pomegranate, hint of mint, along with woods and moss. Thought I was drinking a Merlot or perhaps a St. Emillion. Not a lot of fruit on the palate, mostly earth, mineral, forest floor, slightly acidic. I think I'm disappointed. Should have listened to myself and let this one sit....maybe it's in a funky place.

No detailed notes, but it was solid on all fronts - complex nose, rich palette, steady finish. Very good QPR.
