Beautiful golden color, intense nose of flint, lemon, apricot, orange zest and white pepper. Great balance, texture and complexity the middle palate has some vegetal and mineral notes that are hard to describe but reminds me of leeks with aji no moto. Delicious stuff.

(Hiedler Grüner Veltliner Reserve Thal Kamptal) Light green-tinged yellow color; lovely, savory, tart pear, mineral nose; tasty, complex as usual, mineral, tart green fruit, tart pear palate; medium-plus finish
(Hiedler Grüner Veltliner Thal) ($29.00) Very deep löss covered with red sand give what I think is Ludwig’s signature GrüVe, the one that is most crucially a Hiedler wine. And this is just excellent hi-def cool-vintage Thal, just the way I like them best; all its rich exotica in a firm binding of organized structured flavor; the iron and leaf-smoke are strong this year, and the finish is long and spicy.
