  • July 4th Mondo Event (Atlanta, GA): Tasted blind. An exceptional expression of Grand Cru Burg. Loved the nose on this wine and it had a touch of cinnamon spice on the finish. Higher acidity than the Burg. that came just before it. I thought it was '06 Clos des Lambrays. I'm glad I was wrong and it was Beze instead.

  • The case I bought of this must have been stored at 50 degrees until recently at this is just sooo shut down and young. Still tough to get a read on.

  • Tasted double blind. This was a complete, balanced, and harmonious wine. I would have never guessed this to be a 2010 Grand Cru as it showed so well integrated with quite some tertiary aromas. Others even found it too old. I think there might have been a problem with the cork as I can’t imagine a 2010 to be that evolved.

TN: Smoke and meaty tones, dark red and dark berries on the nose. Fine but not that exciting. On the palate better, more intense and expressive with fine ripe dark and red fruit, spices, some meaty notes and a fine minerality backbone. There were some faint, faint oxidation notes there which for me is not a big problem but people more sensitive to oxidation found it too pronounced. A wall of fine tannins, not yet perfectly melted together, still some slight edges. Good, medium+ acidity. Fine, almost airy texture. Overall, this is very harmonious.

Decanting: This bottle didn’t need any air but was probably not representative.

  • Good, complex tertiary notes but more advanced that it should be, may be not the best bottle.

  • a bit progressed for how old it was, a bit more power and more riper than the Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Echezeaux 2010, had some barnyard, leather and some tart.

had more power and less finesse, therefore a bit less acidity but more intensity. good but for me not over 93.
