This is not really my style, but for what it is (unapologetically big and fruity) it is exceptionally well made. Loads of brambly, peppery blackberry fruit, good acidity and excellent balance. Not a trace of heat and still fresh and youthful.

This likely wasn't meant to last ten years, but it has done so, very admirably. Subdued fruit, nice spice, this is clearly modest compared to its peak years, but still holds up very nicely against bison chili I made today: both are better with each other. No hint of the 15.5% -OH. People who decry Zin for being "over the top", whether fruit-bomb or alcoholic, should try this, right now.

This Zin is drinking really well right now if anyone has any left. Proves that Carlisle does not have entry-level bottlings.

Initially a wave of sweet dark cherry, otherwise soft and not a lot of other descernable flavors. Long legs and still a beautiful garnet color.

PnP and drank over two hours with pasta and red sauce. As before, i.e., wonderful and a huge QPR. Sadly, my last bottle. It’s on to the 2011s!
