#10-05, 7.5% abv. Not quite as brilliant as some of the earlier bottles -- this was a little more burnished and had less of an acid-driven quality to it. The fruit wasn't as pristine either; still a great bottle of wine, but slightly disappointing in the context of previous bottles.

Assorted riesling at D Cuisine (Chicago, IL): Consistent with my previous experience with this wine. The age has dialled down the sweetness a bit, and the cooler vintage gives this more of a mineral/acid-driven style that I quite like. Not as fruit-forward as Willi can be. Drinking very well now.

Dinner at Hermosa (Chicago, IL): #10-05, 7.5% abv. Stunning, clean, bright, and mineral with just a modest amount of sweetness. Tons of complexity and a big favourite at the dinner table tonight.

Brief vacation notes; 10/17/2022-10/22/2022 (Hotel Sonne, Partschins, IT): Popped and poured. Almost perfect bottle! Mosel Spätlese at its best. Fresh and refreshing. Perfect balance and harmony, lots of ripe fruit, great mineral core, high acidity, only 7,5% abv. Pure elegance. Potential for at least another decade. 94-95

#10-05, 7.5% abv. A stunning, classic bottle of Spätlese. Petrol, rocks, and herbs on the nose. Strangely enough, this feels devoid of any specific fruit flavours, and yet it feels fruity at the same time. Extremely fresh with a beautiful mineral, stony character that speaks truly of Domprobst.

(Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spätlese #10) Pale yellow color; herbal and light petrol nose; good oily texture, grapefruit and mineral palate; medium tart grapefruit finish (good food wine)
