This is even more outstanding than the last bottle. My earlier 2022 notes are still relevant, but the nuances of the berries have gotten more complex and interesting as the wine unfolds over an hour or so.

Full bodied wine, but a disappointment for the price. Overly tannic without balancing fruit. A little better on the second night, two days later. Did I wait too long?

This was a welcome comeback. I first had this back in 2014 and it was a delightful bottle. Then years later a much less interesting one. Rich nose of dark cherries, menthol. Palate had a rich texture, with earthy dark fruit with good acidity cutting thru the rich fruit. And still a hit of tannins at the end. Definitely in its drinking window and may be good for a couple more years.

I've made peace with La Lecciaia finally in 2020.... a nice table vino that is certainly not a top quality Brunello, but delivers a simple, albeit slightly tannic experience. It does not have the musty smell that I recall and frankly was enjoyable with a short decant.

Maybe passed its prime, grapey one sided.
