Dark burgundy in color. Medium bodied. Licorice, cherries, roses, and charcuterie. Lovely nose. Some acidity still showing. Medium-minus finish. Tastes like the nose. Better with food. Porchetta dinner with Italian sausage ravioli and steamed green beans. Drink now or hold two years.
Lovely dinner with a lovely wine.

Dark red. Sweet and lovely, some balsamic vinegar and fennel on the nose, it just smells Italian despite the grapes in it and I like it a lot. Dark classy fruit with vanilla and herbs, the overall impression is of cool elegance. It's in the window, drinking splendidly and probably will for quite a few years.

France vs ROW (Home): A producer I follow but this is actually my first taste of the Grand Vin. It certainly lives up to its reputation - cool, refined and complete. There's a sense of old fashioned clarity and restraint here - dark fruits, spice and rose with just a hint of wet tobacco. It's not trying to ingratiate itself, which is sort of the appeal - resolutely savoury and balanced, dry dark fruits on the palate and a fresh, crystalline impression on the finish. You sense this will age for decades.

Juicy red & black forest fruits, refined, elegant with lots of freshness. The Carmenère leads to herbs, but here in a more refined and better dosed way than in Chili. Excellent wine but it has become a bit expensive.

Superb finesse. Very elegant and long, and a perfectly dosed spicyness from the carmenere in the blend. Very refined wine
