Bouquet with red roses and earthiness, the palate is intense and bone dry, I do not recall coming across such desert like mouth drying feel, dried flowers, black tea, leather, a bit fragrant. Still clear presence of tannins. Long gum drying aftertaste. So dry that this was a bit difficult to me.

Italian night at Maison Dakota. Tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Long legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of red roses, fragrant candy, earth and tar, vanillin. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (15%), high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of asphalt, smoky tar, earth, dark red cherries, black cherries, black tea leaves. Long finish. Very good quality. Such pronounced intensity, yet keeps it all together so well in a nice package. Very Serralunga Barolo to me. Young - with great potential. From the Prapò cru in the commune of Serralunga d'Alba.

The nose showed brilliant red fruit and floral tones of cherry and rose with, dark soil and minerals supporting its rich fruit character. A hint of brown sugar lent an almost candied not, yet not overdone. Finessed on the palate with silky textures giving way to focused red fruit. It's youthful structure took hold toward the close as this finished with inner floral and mineral tones. With time in the cellar it should flesh out on the palate to provide a very pretty expression of Serralunga fruit.
