  Substituted for a corked bottle of 1996 de Vogue Musigny VV. After that frustration, this youngster was a very welcome relief. Expressive, very lively and energetic. Packed with fresh red fruit, more raspberry than cherry. Healthy acidity, tannins absorbed by the fruit. Obviously enjoyable now in this fruity stage even if unrecognizable as Chambertin.

  France 2013 - Côte d'Or; 4/24/2013-4/26/2013 (Beaune): Tasted at the Domaine. A little shy at first but after some swirling beautiful notes of red and black pinot fruit emerged from the glass. Finely textured on the palate with excellent weight and firm powdery tannins. Acidity here is very good. At this this brutally youthful stage, I’d rather drink the Rugiens, but I think they both possess outstanding potential. Excellent. 90+
