This has come of age. The stodginess has faded, leaving a much fresher core of garrigue fruits, with an elegant framework that lifts and prolongs the finale. Very enjoyable.

Youthful appearance, with deep ruby core and narrow rim. Rich, deep nose showing coaly black fruit, herbal and smoky notes. Full bodied on the palate, soft and generous on the mid-palate, rich dark fruit, herbal notes, moderate acidity, a touch treacly and ungainly with pinching tannins on the medium length finish. Not really for me.

In the context of the vintage this isn't bad, especially drunk slightly chilled as a summer evening drink, but no match for earlier vintages

Brian’s with Kiki & Michelle; Nice, good garrigue and dark fruit elements, still ample t’s; but cold, and a bit difficult to judge.

Initially bretty. Gives way to a nicely balanced palette and herbal/spicy notes.
