It may have been a bad bottle, but this was a great disappointment. I had hung onto one to see how it would age - sadly, this one aged badly. The colour was still vibrant, but already the nose was off-putting, with strong sherry-like notes. In the mouth, still thick and powerful, but the fruit had dried, leaving an impression of dry syrupiness, rather like drinking a dry cough mixture. The only good point was the citrus notes to the finish. My impression is so different to another recent note that I think it may have been my bottle.

Powerful dark fruit and herb aromas, long legs (14.5%), still surprisingly youthful in colour - could easily be half the age. Some tannin left to resolve, mineral and spice on early palate, more obvious black fruit mid, turning to long dry and warm finish. If you like fruity Rhône style, drink up fast. Should fade gracefully if you like leathery old Syrah

Monthly tasting club LTC 2015-03; France: Languedoc. (@ SO by PvE): Dark fruits and herbs and spices in the bouquet. On the palate juicy fruits, spiciness and some barnyard. Beautiful acidity and soft tannin. Completely ready now and still a few years to go. Beautiful 14 years old wine.

Vins compris 15/2/2022. Robe tendant vers le marron. Nez de tabac, viande. Bouche ample et ronde, sur la fin d’apogée mais très bon maintenant.

Too compact and alcoholic for my taste. Misses elegance.
