Super burg at early maturity. Still very fresh and tight, but with a gorgeous red fruit / five spice bouquet. Just a hint of tertiary going on, but this is fresher than many 2016s I’ve had this year. Grippy on the finish and good acidity; this will be a distance runner. Touch of brett, but not objectionable. Yum!

Didn't enjoy it as much. Bouquet is lifted and opening up with nice floral and light oak notes. Palate seemed pretty closed with marked acidity and fruit mostly hidden. Mineral and q lean

nice enough, pure red pinot fruits, not a lot of complexity here. drinks on the level of a village VR. Perhaps hold 5 more years to see what, if anything, happens

Wound really, really tight on opening. Needs a few hours in the decanter, at a minimum; that helps, but it's just a young wine and nothing is going to change that except time. Very mineral, like sucking on a stone. Touch of drying oak tannins on the finish. Very elegant, and will benefit from age.

Pretty similar to my prior note. Still locked up pretty tight. Tannic. The quality is there but it needs time.
